Airport Transfers

Traveling to Suriname becomes much easier when your transport is arranged in advance. The Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport (Zanderij) is located in the district of Para, about 45–55 minutes outside Paramaribo, depending on traffic and weather.
What to expect on the way
- The road from the airport to the city is a single main highway, surrounded by nature and forested areas.
- Traffic can be slow during rush hours, especially in the morning (7:00–9:00) and late afternoon (16:00–18:30).
- Because the airport is far from the city, taxis are limited and prices can vary widely.
- Night arrivals and early-morning flights often mean fewer transport options.
